RegeID presents at online registry and registrar industry event
On 6 October, members of the RegeID project team joined registries and registrars from across Europe to present at CENTR’s Registrar Day.
The CENTR Registrar Day is an annual event that brings together registries and registrars from all over Europe to meet and network, exchange their best practices, improve on or create new business relationships and get updates from industry experts. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was reduced to two hours and run online.
The overarching theme of the meeting this year was the accuracy of domain owner data in registry databases. Esther Makaay (Connectis; RegeID partner) kicked off the event with a presentation on current work regarding identification and verification in Europe, including an overview of available and notified European eIDs.
An integral part of her contribution was the presentation of the RegeID project and its goals. Esther underlined the importance of registrar feedback and added that she would be sending out a questionnaire in early November to gather their thoughts. In the meantime, she asked participants to share their views on processes and tools needed to verify registrants as well as to identify bottlenecks in existing processes with the project consortium.
